DigiDestination LTD is proud to announce new site release and collaboration with the Earth Hour Cyprus www.earthhourcy.org part of Global Enviromental Movement www.earthhour.org for the 7th year in a row (Our team has been one of the official sponsors of the initiative ever since 2009).
The project aims this year to promote the global message “Shine a light on climate change”. The main initiative of the event calls for turning the lights off for an hour on the date of 19th March 2016, between the hours 20:30-21:30, as a measure to save valuable energy resources, within the context of the promotion of an active environmental consciousness. The team for Cyprus specifically, has also decided to set as a national target the control of the use of plastic bags, which have been found to be extremely damaging to our eco-systems. The events in Cyprus are coordinated by Alexia Sakadaki, organising manager of the Cyprus Green Party.
As a proactive web-design and service company with a consciousness in local and International environmental matters, DigiDestination’s role was to design and upgrade a full-functional official website targeted for making the greatest impact to the Cypriot public. This was achieved specifically by developing a website that is optimized for search engines, being developed not only for display on computers but also on mobile phones and tablets. The website also allows the customization of features by site administrators easily. And finally there is a full social media integration displaying image gallery from Earth Hour Cyprus Facebook Fan Page and auto shares on the major social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
DigiDestination’s team has attempted in this project to demonstrate and support the values of social engagement, contributing that way to the spread of the message in social media “we turn the lights off and turn on our social power”, as set by the organization’s officials.
Following many years of successful contribution to this cause, DigiDesignation will be open to supporting the initiative for many years to come.
