How often should law firms post in their blogs?

Many law firms choose to blog on a regular basis and that is fine, right?. The question raised here is: Does this actually have a positive impact on their online business? The answer is a total YES. According to stats from Google and Lawlytics, law firms that post frequently and consistently are generally more successful than those who don’t.

Some studies have even found specifically that law firms and attorneys that post regularly and publish more than 15 blog posts per month have 3X times more traffic than the law firms who blog on a less regular basis. In more detail, private-owned law firms consisting of two to 11 attorneys according to these studies get 3X more traffic than other law firms of this size that post only once a month and 2X more traffic than law firms who post around 5 posts per month. It’s obvious by the numbers here that your chances as a law firm to drive more attention to your law firm business online are doubled or tripled.

Keep in mind that having a higher traffic is generally a desirable metric but this doesn’t guarantee that this traffic on its own will convert into leads and then into real clients. But, generally in studies concerning law firms and posting frequency, the more a law firm blogs the higher the chances of lead attraction and conversion.

If you want to jump right in and start experiencing the benefits of posting regularly, start with a 4-week challenge. Make it a habit to post at least twice for each week relevant, high-quality as well as informational content.  You can choose topics from you own private practice and specialties or inform your readers of the latest legal news and how you can help them. It’s not as hard as you may think and if you stick to it, you will start reaping real results in traffic and possibly lead conversion.

Now, you don’t want to post 10 times a day as this is a waste of your time and will dilute your messages and even annoy your regular readers. In most cases, posting 2-6 times a week is ideal for driving more traffic and building engagement with your audience.
